Battle North Gold Corporation to be Acquired by Evolution Mining Limited
Evolution Mining is the Australian Gold Company that purchased the Red Lake Mine from Goldcorp in 2019. The Collaboration Agreement signed between Wabauskang First Nation and Goldcorp in 2015 remains in place with Evolution assuming Goldcorp’s responsibilities under the agreement. The acquisition of Battle North Gold by Evolution was originally announced March of 2021, with a Battle North Gold shareholder vote held on May 11th to approve this acquisition. As shareholders in Battle North Gold, both Lac Seul First Nation and Wabauskang First Nation voted in favour of the deal after joint meetings with both companies. The acquisition was approved, with 99.8% of the shareholders voting in favour.
